Privacy Policy
In short: Broaden collects nothing about you and sends nothing anywhere. Your settings stay on your iPhone, and Apple handles the purchase and the free trial.
This policy covers the Broaden app for iPhone and its Safari extension (“Broaden”), made by Click Technologies LLC (“we”, “us”), and this website.
What Broaden does on a web page
Broaden is a Safari extension. If you allow it, Safari lets it run a small script on the pages you visit. The script measures the page and your iPhone's screen and changes how the page is laid out, on your iPhone. If banner hiding is on, it also looks at boxes laid over the page, including their text, to recognise cookie and sign-up banners, and hides them; it doesn't answer them for you.
All of this happens on your iPhone. Broaden doesn't record, keep or send the pages you visit, what's on them, what you type or where you browse.
What is stored, and where
- Your settings: the mode for every website (Off, Pictures or Pictures & text), where Broaden works (portrait, landscape or both), whether banners are hidden, the app's look (light or dark), and the settings you give particular websites. A website's name is saved only when you give it a setting of its own. These are kept on your iPhone, shared between the Broaden app and its Safari extension, and in the extension's own storage in Safari.
- Safari's permission: whether Safari lets Broaden run on every website, so the app can tell you if a setup step is missing. It's kept on your iPhone.
- Your purchase and free trial: the free trial and the full version are App Store purchases, recorded by Apple against your Apple Account. Broaden reads them from the App Store on your iPhone and keeps a copy of their status (bought or not, and when the trial began) on your iPhone, so the Safari extension knows whether it may run.
None of this is sent to us. Deleting Broaden removes it from your iPhone; your purchases stay with your Apple Account.
Network activity
Broaden makes no network connections of its own. The only service it uses is Apple's App Store, through iOS, to sell the full version, start the free trial and restore purchases. It doesn't contact us, doesn't load code from the internet and doesn't report the pages you visit.
Analytics and advertising
None. Broaden contains no analytics, tracking or advertising code, has no account, and doesn't identify you or your device.
If you've chosen in your iPhone's settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us crash reports and figures about the app, such as how many people installed it, without identifying you. You control this in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Purchases
Apple handles every purchase through the App Store. We never see your name, payment details or Apple Account. Apple's privacy policy covers what Apple does with them.
If you email us
If you write to us, we receive your email address and what you send, and use them only to answer you. We don't add you to any mailing list, and we delete the messages when they're no longer needed to help you.
This website
Broaden's pages on this website set no cookies and contain no analytics or tracking of their own. If you pick Light or Dark with the switcher at the top, your browser remembers that choice on your device; it isn't sent to us. The website is delivered through Cloudflare, which, like any web host, processes visitors' IP addresses to deliver and protect it and may count visits without identifying anyone.
Children
Broaden collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal information from Broaden, there's nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. If you've emailed us and want your messages deleted, or have any privacy question, write to us and we'll answer.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page first and change the date at the top.
